APAC SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER – ELECTRONICS – ELECTRIC CAR BRAND

Our client is one of the very well-known American electric car brands that is one of the Pioneers of the Global EV sectors. For years they have been supplying electric cars, battery energy storage, and related products and services, our client has served almost all continents worldwide and is recognized as one of the world's most valuable companies. With their recent entrance into the Thailand market, and an overwhelming amount of demand, our client is looking for Electronics Supplier Industrialization Engineer to join the company.
The Electronics Supplier Industrialization Engineer will establish and validate the manufacturing process for key electronic components and top-level assemblies at their suppliers. This involves initial supplier evaluations and make-or-buy decisions to the actual industrialization and quality assurance efforts. Additionally, they will act as the link between regional suppliers and internal teams, driving improvements in supplier manufacturing processes, quality control, scalability, and cost. The overall duties and responsibilities of this sought-after position are outlined as follows:
Responsibilities
· Contribute to Design for Manufacturing early in product development, offering key insights to NPI and Design teams.
· Perform onsite supplier audits and evaluate for sourcing decisions; onboward new supppliers to meet company standards.
· Lead ongoing effots to improve supplier scalability, reduce cost, and enhance quality.
· Manage and optimize supplier’s ability to deliver on schedule.
· Oversee supplier production capacity and operations management.
· Ensure clear and effective communication of technical requirements between suppliers and internal teams.
· Audit suppliers to guarantee their capability to meet the company’s standards for part performance, delivery timelines, and reliability standards.
· Work closely with internal teams to establish the optimal performance specifications and supplier metrics.
· Track, lead, and improve supplier manufacturing processes and prepare for new product introductions and design modifications.
· Guide suppliers in creating highly reliable processes and procedures to ensure efficient and consistent production of top-quality products.
· Verify that supplier corrective actions for design process issues are effective, sustainable, and applied broadly across their operations.
· Provide recommendations on new or alternative materials to improve design, ease of manufacturing, or lower costs.
Qualifications
· Qualified to a degree level in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Thai and English.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or Mechanical Engineering in PCBA, PCBs, and PCBA TLAs is highly preferred.
· Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturing and DEisgn for Assembly.
· Strong mechanical background, including statistical tolerance analysis, design quality assessment, and improvement techniques.
· Strong understanding and practical experience in Six Sigma methodologies (DAMIC) and quality statistical analysis tools and applications (JMP, Minitab).
· Proven leadership skills, including prior experience and managing safety-critical components.
· Proficient in GD&T and 3D CAD software.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to direct supplier activities at a management level.
· Ability to plan and execute projects effectively using project management methodologies.
· Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, with strong team-building skills for collaborating with suppliers, peers, and other departments.
· Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, with a willingness to travel frequently (averaging 50-60%, potentially with short notice).
