Senior Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician

The City of Hallandale Beach is hiring a Senior Electric Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair the City’s electric and hybrid vehicles. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of relevant experience, and must obtain specific ASE certifications within six months. A valid Florida Class B commercial driver's license is also required. The position offers a full-time schedule with a salary range of $49,938.91 to $84,896.15.

Performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the City’s vehicles and mechanical equipment, specializing in electric and hybrid vehicles. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude. Exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.

High school diploma or GED. Three (3) or more years' related experience working in maintaining/repairing electric vehicles or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) xEV High-Voltage Electrical Safety Level 1 and 2 certifications for working with high voltage systems within (6) months of hire. Must have a valid Florida Class B commercial driver's license with an air brake endorsement and passenger endorsement or obtain within six (6) months of employment and satisfactory driving record throughout employment. Must have or be able to obtain additional related ASE professional technician (A series) certifications within six (6) months of hire.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
