Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Specialist (Outside Sales)

They are based in Minnetonka, MN, where they have been providing clean energy technologies for over 15 years. The company is in a growth mode and expanding rapidly, they are looking for an individual that is driven by sales and motivated to help continue to grow the brand.

Position Overview

This person will be part of the organization's Commercial Energy team, which has a focus on providing solar energy, battery storage, and EV charging solutions for commercial, industrial, civic, and multi-family properties.

As an Electronic Vehicle (EV) Charger Specialist, this person will be responsible for prospecting and qualifying customers within the Minnesota market. This individual will identify customers, work internally with the team to develop, present, and close a package of solutions to meet the needs of the customers. Once a project is successfully closed, the company's operations team takes over day-to-day responsibility for project execution and execution. The sales individual provides general continuity and support to ensure the customer’s needs are met throughout the project.

This role reports directly to the VP of Sales. The ideal candidate is driven by success, well-organized, self-motivated, and collaborative in delivering great outcomes to their customers as they deploy EV charging infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of previous sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, develop, and close new business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proficiently conduct technical and non-technical internal and external conversations.
  • Ability to understand the specifications and limitations of existing customer electrical infrastructure and to scope EV Charger project needs accordingly.
  • Strong drive for success and growth mindset toward continuous improvement.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Additional Context for Role & Experience

  • Working familiarity with electrical infrastructure and terminology is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in EV Charging is preferred, but not required for success.
  • Limited travel may be required depending on customer needs.

This is a full-time (W2) position hired directly with this client. The compensation includes a base salary plus commission, with benefits and the potential for merit bonuses based on individual and team success. The commission and bonus structure are designed to encourage long-term success for the sales team, our customers, and company.
