Job Title: Electric Vehicle (EV) Body Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electric Vehicle (EV) Body Technician to join our advanced collision repair team. This role is specifically focused on the structural and cosmetic repair of electric vehicles, including high-voltage systems safety, aluminum and composite body materials, and OEM-specific repair procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience with EV models from leading manufacturers and a strong understanding of the unique requirements involved in repairing electric vehicle bodies. You will be responsible for restoring EVs to manufacturer standards, ensuring structural integrity, aesthetic quality, and compliance with all safety protocols related to high-voltage systems and battery housings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural repairs, dent removal, and panel replacement on electric vehicles.
  • Follow OEM repair procedures and guidelines for EVs (including Tesla, Rivian, Ford, and others), with strict attention to high-voltage safety protocols.
  • Safely handle and disconnect high-voltage systems and components.
  • Diagnose structural and cosmetic damage using advanced scanning and measuring tools.
  • Collaborate effectively with estimators, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to ensure efficient and accurate repair workflows.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety in all repairs.
  • Keep the work environment clean, organized, and compliant with industry and safety standards.
  • Stay current with emerging EV repair technologies and complete ongoing training as needed.
  • Document all repairs and services in accordance with company, OEM, and insurance standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive body repair; EV-specific experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven background in collision repair, with training or hands-on experience in EV bodywork.
  • Familiarity with electric vehicle architecture, including battery housing, high-voltage systems, and structural components.
  • I-CAR and/or OEM certifications preferred (e.g., Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, Ford EV).
  • Solid understanding of EV safety procedures and protocols for working with high-voltage components.
  • Skilled in the use of frame machines, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning in evolving EV technologies.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Travel required for certifications/training.
