General Application - Vehicle Test and Development Engineers

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for engineers to join our Vehicle Test and Development team in California (multiple locations listed below).
What is our role?
- At Hyundai America Vehicle Test Group, you will have the opportunity to be challenged and grow as an engineer. We have many opportunities, ranging from Electric Vehicle Development, Vehicle Chassis Controls, Vehicle-User Interface and Vehicle Durability.
- Our engineers work at one of the newest Proving Grounds in the world. This is where Hyundai and Kia develop their world-class vehicles for the Americas and explore advanced technologies to carry us into the future.

What are the jobs?
Generally, just about anything that involves Vehicle Testing and Development.
- Evaluating and developing vehicle control systems
- In-house testing and calibration of our advanced chassis controls, including off-road control systems.
- Certifying vehicles to meet NHTSA standards for Electronic Stability Control
- Thermal management of Battery Electric Vehicle for improved battery cooling and energy efficiency
- Oversee full-vehicle durability testing at a world-class Proving Ground environment.
- Evaluate, diagnose, report and follow up on all issues found during various durability testing events.
- Participate in field surveys, market research and data collection.
- Electric and Fuel Cell vehicle development engineering.
- Electric vehicle drivability systems at a manager and engineering level.
- Calibration of electric vehicle range predictions in various environments.
- Vehicle information, entertainment and user interface engineering.
- Develop, test and validate the Infotainment system and the how the customer interfaces with these systems (UX).
Where are these jobs?
The Hyundai-Kia Proving Ground has three locations around the Los Angeles area.
- Our Proving Ground is about 2 hours north of the Los Angeles area, near the Palmdale/Lancaster (high desert) and Tehachapi (mountain) communities. We are at the southern end of the Sierra Nevada Mountains that offer great skiing, hiking, mountain biking and off-road activities.
- We also have offices in the Chino, CA area about 1 hour from the LA area and Orange County near the southern California beaches.
- Some of us travel to many locations throughout North America - Minnesota and Alaska for cold weather testing, Death Valley for hot weather and to our assembly plants located in Alabama, Georgia and Monterrey Mexico. Plan on traveling 10~30%.

What are the requirements?
- BS/MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Just out of school with some good automotive internships or up to ten years of experience in the automotive industry
- Work well in a team
- Be able to write a great report that communicates your testing results and recommendations
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
