Role Description

The Tire Technician reports to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. This position works closely with Operations, Quality, Internal and External Customers. The Tire Technician is required to be a self-starter, work independently, be dependable and trustworthy. Must have dependable transportation to travel between Neely Ferry location and Old Stage Road Warehouse.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Mount rims on tires as well as demounting tires from rims.
  • Assemble tires to rims for parts sales and vehicle production.
  • Physically stack tires and rims on pallets.
  • Wrap and band tires to pallets.
  • Unload, tag and count tire and rim deliveries.
  • Reorganizing the tire area and place rims on racks.
  • Staging and loading materials for interplant transfers.
  • Assist in import container unloading and palletization.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Quality Policy to ensure our products and services meet customers' expectations.
  • Operate forklift in safe manner including completing daily forklift inspections.
  • Keep the warehouse area clean and organized, all tools and equipment in their proper place.
  • Communicate effectively with other shipping associates and outside vendors.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and problem solving.
  • Establish and promote a positive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Tire Technician.
  • Ability to stand at tire mounting machine for extended periods of time.
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Ability to learn procedures and follow directions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
  • Forklift Trained and Certified.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled work environment.
