CPA with Deep Experience in Tesla / EV Tax Credits (Including Auction Purchases)

We’re looking for a licensed CPA with real-world experience handling EV tax credits, specifically Tesla vehicles and non-standard purchase scenarios such as auction purchases.

We manage a small fleet of Teslas acquired through auction. We currently have two vehicles where the tax credit outcome is critical, and we need a CPA who understands the fine print and edge cases around EV tax law — not just the high-level rules.

This engagement is focused on advisory and execution, not generic tax prep. The goal is to understand eligibility, structure the filing correctly, and avoid mistakes that could delay or invalidate the credit.

We need help navigating

• Federal (and applicable state) EV tax credits
• New vs. used EV credit distinctions
• Auction and secondary-market purchases vs. dealer purchases
• Business and fleet-use implications
• Required IRS forms, documentation, and timing

We want someone who can explain what applies, what doesn’t, and why, and help us prepare the paperwork correctly.

Scope of Work

• Review Tesla purchases made via auction
• Determine eligibility for EV tax credits
• Explain risks, constraints, and disqualifiers specific to auction purchases
• Identify which forms to file, when to file them, and what documentation is required
• Advise on best practices to maximize compliance and likelihood of approval

This may evolve into ongoing advisory work as our fleet expands.
