EV Mechanic

JOB- Electric Vehicle Mechanic (Contract – Outside IR35)

LOCATION-Tilbury (Essex)

TERM- (Contract – Outside IR35)

SALARY- £18-£24 per hour dependent on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Mechanic for a contract position (Outside IR35). This role is ideal for a professional with Level 2 or Level 3 EV certification and hands-on experience servicing electric and hybrid vehicles. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining high-voltage EV systems in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on electric and hybrid vehicles
• Work on key EV systems including batteries, drivetrains, charging infrastructure, and electrical components
• Adhere strictly to high-voltage safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
• Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify faults and perform repairs
• Maintain service records and ensure quality control on all work completed
• Keep up-to-date with the latest EV technology and repair techniques

Requirements

• IMI Level 2 or Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) – Essential
• Solid experience as a mechanic, ideally with EV or hybrid vehicle expertise
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems and EV diagnostics
• EV-specific certifications or manufacturer training are advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
• Valid UK driver's license
