Automotive Light Service Specialist

This is a part time role for an Vehicle Service Specialist at Austin EV Only. $28/hour if you are coming from a major EV manufacturer (Rivian, Polestar, Fisker, etc.) more if you are an experienced Tesla mechanic. Hours and Salary will grow beyond stated rates as fast as you can learn and take on more responsibility.

The Role

Mechanic needed working on Electric Vehicles (only). I do a lot of R&I such as Suspension and Brakes. You will be exposed to High Voltage (HV) systems and you should expect to learn how to diagnose and repair high voltage systems in the first 3 months.

This is a part-time but can grow into a full time role if you are aggressive about learning and growing. Work is on-site in a non-climate controlled shop. The Specialist / Technician will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on electric vehicles, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires working at our location in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, we do NOT sponsor H1B Visa.

Required

• MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH SUSPENSION REPAIRS - Do NOT apply if you can't tell me the difference between what causes a squeak, a rattle, and a groan.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
• Basic HVAC repair knowledge
• Experience in performing inspections and conducting repairs
• Valid TX driver's license
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent problem-solving skills

Desired (but not required) Qualifications

• Experience in electric vehicle repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of electric vehicle systems and components
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Availability for part-time work. (We are open M-F 8a - 4p) I'm not looking for a tech outside of these hours
• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
