PDI Technician – Electric Vehicles

Job Location : Santacruz, Mumbai
- PDI Technician – Electric Vehicles : 1 Post (ITI / Degree / Diploma in Automotive, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, 1 – 3 years of experience as a technician, preferably in the automotive or EV industry.)
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to Quality Head.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of electric vehicles, following standard operating procedures and checklists.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical system checks, including battery status, software calibration, charging systems, lights, brakes, tires, HVAC, infotainment, etc.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to verify proper operation and update vehicle software/firmware as required.
- Identify and resolve minor defects, cosmetic issues, and fit-and-finish concerns.
- Coordinate with the Quality or Service team for any major issues or repairs beyond the PDI scope.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, charged, and presentable for customer delivery.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and repair documentation.
- Adhere to safety and environmental compliance procedures at all times.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives within the PDI process.
Key Requirements
- ITI / Diploma / Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 1–3 years of experience as a technician, preferably in the automotive or EV industry.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, particularly electric drivetrains, battery systems, and diagnostics.
- Experience using OBD/diagnostic tools and EV-specific software platforms.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical bulletins.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) in an OEM, dealership, or EV startup.
- Exposure to CAN bus systems, EV charging protocols, or vehicle calibration tools.
- Valid driver’s license for vehicle movement and understanding of vehicle handling protocols.
- Knowledge of ISO/TS/IATF 16949 quality standards
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, Kaizen practices
- Experience with ERP or digital job card systems
