VP of Business Development - Heavy Duty Fleets

EV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time VP of Business Development for one of our partners that is a leader in the sustainable commercial transportation sector. In this remote position, you will lead business development and sales strategies across multiple market segments, build strategic channel partnerships, and drive revenue growth while helping to advance clean energy solutions in the commercial mobility industry.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead cross-functional business development and sales initiatives to create and implement comprehensive growth strategies, foster robust client and partner relationships, and support the evolution of product and service offerings
- Create and execute a strategic sales and business development roadmap spanning up to 5 distinct market segments/channels to achieve revenue objectives and accelerate organizational growth
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships with channel resellers and location-based partners
- Work alongside product, customer operations, and engineering teams to design solutions and enhance existing product portfolios
- Build collaborative go-to-market strategies with partners for coordinated sales and marketing initiatives that amplify brand awareness and demonstrate market value
- Engage in RFP/RFI response processes, deliver strategic presentations and proposals, and facilitate sales enablement training for partner organizations
- Finalize customer pilot initiatives with defined success metrics that translate into sustainable long-term revenue streams
- Establish quantifiable objectives and deliver measurable outcomes through data-driven decision making, emphasizing KPIs, sales pipeline development, and new business opportunities
- Act as the primary advocate representing customer needs and perspectives
Required Qualifications
- Strong focus on prioritizing customer needs and delivering exceptional client experiences
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in a strategic leadership role within business development, sales, or channel management (executive-level position with strategic decision-making authority rather than operational forecasting)
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers and possess deep industry expertise in sectors such as eMobility, EVs, public EV charging infrastructure, commercial vehicle services, hydrogen fueling, battery storage, Fleet Management Solutions, Commercial Fueling, or similar fields
- Entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed in the emerging and evolving ZEV commercial truck sector
- Proven history of exceeding sales targets, achieving business objectives, and generating sustainable growth
- Ability to perform sedentary work with repetitive motion, including substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading; and the capability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards in an office environment
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
