Program Manager – EV Charging Infrastructure
EVCS
Role Overview
EVCS is hiring a Program Manager to lead EV charging infrastructure projects across Northern California with precision, foresight, and financial discipline. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in Excel, understands construction workflows, and can turn complex data into clear, actionable forecasts.
You'll be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, and compliance across multiple projects—many of which are state-funded and require meticulous documentation. If you're a PMP-certified pro who knows how to keep projects on track and stakeholders aligned, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage detailed project budgets, tracking spend across phases and vendors
- Leverage your Excel skills to forecast costs, timelines, and resource needs
- Apply your knowledge to manage complex, multi-phase EV charging infrastructure projects -from permitting and site prep to commissioning—ensuring alignment with construction teams, network operations and funding.
- Negotiating pricing, optimizing resource allocation, and aligning expenditures with project baselines.
- Identify cost-related threats and opportunities, integrating mitigation plans into the overall project control framework
- Maintain milestone-based payment schedules in coordination with funding requirements, ensuring timely invoicing and alignment with earned value and project performance metrics.
- Oversee full project lifecycle from origination to commissioning and closeout
- Collaborate with construction, finance, and funding teams
- Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and in alignment with organizational standards and audit requirements, ensuring traceability, version control, and readiness for stakeholder review or regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and process updates
What You Bring
- PMP certification (preferred but must be open to getting)
- 5–7 years of experience in project management within EV charging, energy, or construction
- Advanced Excel skills (i.e., pivot tables, vLookups)
- Strong understanding of project management, project controls, budgeting, and forecasting
- Familiarity with state-funded infrastructure and compliance documentation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize across multiple projects
