Key Responsibilities

Battery Assembly
Build and assemble lithium-ion battery modules and packs to high safety and quality standards.
Install and wire battery management systems (BMS), cooling systems, fuses, and connectors.
Testing and Validation
Perform functional and safety tests on assembled packs using diagnostic equipment.
Conduct pre-commissioning checks and report performance data for quality control.
Engineering Support
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to refine battery designs and prototypes.
Assist in documenting build processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Workshop Operations
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment.
Follow health and safety protocols related to high-voltage systems.

Requirements

Essential

Practical experience with electrical/mechanical assembly – automotive, aerospace, or similar.
Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and battery system layouts.
Familiarity with basic diagnostic tools (multimeters, CAN tools, etc.).
High attention to detail and methodical approach to technical work.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a strong team player.

Desirable

Previous work with high-voltage (HV) battery systems.
Formal qualifications in automotive, electrical, or mechanical engineering (e.g., HNC, NVQ, BTEC).
IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent training in cable and harness assembly.

Location & Hours

Based full-time in Oxfordshire.
Standard working hours with occasional flexibility depending on project requirements.
