Finance Manager- EV Propulsion

Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
The EV Propulsion Finance Manager will lead the financial strategy and operations for GM’s Electric Vehicle Propulsion systems. This role partners closely with Engineering, Planning, and procurement teams to drive profitability, optimize resource allocation, and support key decision-making. Reporting to the Propulsion Finance Director, the manager will provide impactful analysis, develop business cases, and champion performance metrics that align with GM’s strategic priorities.
The Role
The EV Propulsion Finance Manager will lead the financial strategy and operations for GM’s Electric Vehicle Propulsion systems. This role partners closely with Engineering, Planning, and procurement teams to drive profitability, optimize resource allocation, and support key decision-making. Reporting to the Propulsion Finance Director, the manager will provide impactful analysis, develop business cases, and champion performance metrics that align with GM’s strategic priorities.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Lead financial planning and analysis for EV Propulsion systems, ensuring alignment with GM’s EV profitability goals
- Evaluate business cases and cost-benefit analyses to support propulsion strategy decisions
- Optimize Engineering and Capital resource utilization through data-driven insights.
- Provide financial guidance on portfolio prioritization and long-term planning
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Program Management, Purchasing, and Engineering teams
- Deliver performance metrics and KPIs aligned with corporate strategy
- Translate evolving strategies into clear actions and priorities for the team
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
- Develop team capabilities through coaching, stretch assignments, and leadership exposure
- Role model GM values and leadership behaviors
