About Thunderbolt EV

Thunderbolt is bringing clean, efficient, and cost-effective transport solutions to the UK’s urban logistics sector. We are launching the Thunderbolt – a compact electric van designed specifically for last-mile delivery and urban mobility. Engineered for cities and built for business, this vehicle offers councils and companies an ideal sustainable fleet option.

We are now looking for a highly experienced sales professional to lead our outreach and sales to local authorities, fleet operators, and vehicle wholesalers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead B2B and B2G (business to government) sales strategy for the Thunderbolt across the UK.
  • Establish and grow relationships with UK councils, local authorities, NHS trusts, utility companies, and public procurement departments.
  • Identify, engage, and close deals with fleet operators, vehicle wholesalers, and logistics companies.
  • Attend in-person meetings across the UK to present the vehicle, demonstrate key features, and respond to procurement processes (including tenders and RFPs).
  • Track market trends and regulatory developments to position Thunderbolt as a solution for urban fleet electrification.
  • Liaise with marketing and product teams to align customer feedback with product development.
  • Represent Thunderbolt at trade shows, EV events, fleet expos, and public procurement forums.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in automotive fleet sales, B2G sales, or equivalent high-value B2B environments.
  • Proven experience working with UK local authorities, councils, or central government bodies on vehicle or infrastructure deals.
  • Strong contacts within fleet, commercial vehicle, or EV sectors
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; comfortable with formal tendering processes.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, clean transport, and EV benefits in public sector and logistics contexts.
  • Knowledge of public procurement processes and frameworks

Desirable

  • Understanding of the UK’s Road to Zero strategy, ULEZ/CAZ zones, and how councils are adapting their fleets accordingly.
  • Experience with EV infrastructure or last-mile delivery solutions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £80,000.00 per year
