Position: Technical Support Specialist – EV Charging & Energy Systems (Remote)

Location: 100% Remote (Travel 20–30% as needed)

Type: Contractor | Duration: 12 months (possible extension)

Schedule: 1st shift, 8am – 5pm | Overtime as needed

Rate: $30 to $37/hr on W2

About the Role

  • We are seeking a Technical Service Agent to support home energy and EV charging equipment. This role focuses on technical diagnostics, remote troubleshooting, and case management while ensuring exceptional customer experiences throughout the sales, installation, and support process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical diagnosis and troubleshooting for energy home charging equipment.
  • Navigate tools to perform remote support and provide guidance for on-site visits.
  • Create and update cases in Salesforce; coordinate parts ordering/returns.
  • Act as escalation point for technical issues from service partners and advisors.
  • Deliver training as a subject matter expert and support training material creation.
  • Manage warranty and RMA claims; reconcile claims with logistics as needed.
  • Support customer success through pre-sale consultation, final sales review, installation oversight, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Installation, Customer Care) to ensure seamless handoffs and high customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Safety-first mindset.
  • 3+ years as an electrician or working on electrical components; EV charging equipment experience strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing or call center role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Associate/Trade degree in electrical/electronic field or equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred).

Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of experience in electrical/electronic work (journeyman level).
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong technical consultation skills from pre-sale through commissioning.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, highly collaborative role.
