Plant Operations Director - EV Batteries

The role
As the senior leader of a rapidly scaling site—growing from 150 to over 1,000 employees—you will oversee all aspects of daily plant operations. Your mission: drive operational excellence, ensure safety and compliance, and foster a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional collaboration with HR, EHS, and administrative teams to implement operational improvements.
Serve as the plant’s primary representative to local and state officials and community stakeholders.
Champion a culture of safety and ensure full compliance with OSHA and internal standards.
Oversee employee and labor relations, including proactive union avoidance strategies and issue resolution.
Streamline production processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
Drive long-term operational planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage inventory, raw materials, and cost optimization strategies.
The candidate
7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
Proven expertise in operations management and plant leadership.
Strong background in employee relations and union avoidance; UAW experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
Experience with an automotive Tier 1 supplier or OEM is highly desirable.
