Bluetooth IoT Developer for OBD-II EV Data Collection

We are seeking an experienced Bluetooth IoT Developer to assist with the development of an OBD-II data collection system for electric vehicles (EVs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Bluetooth technology and IoT applications, focusing on real-time data transmission and analysis. You will work closely with our team to implement solutions that securely collect and transmit vehicle data via Bluetooth protocols. We're looking for an experienced IoT/Bluetooth developer to help us connect our future mobile app (not yet developed) with third-party OBD dongles (e.g., OBDLink MX+, Vgate, etc.) for live data streaming from EVs like the Tesla Model 3 and Y, Rivian, Hyundai Ioniq, etc.

Your Role

• Set up Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication between our app and selected OBD dongles
• Establish a reliable data pipeline from dongle to mobile device
• Extract diagnostic and battery-related data using standard protocols (CAN, UDS)
• Provide documentation and support to integrate with our frontend/backend

Required Skills

• Experience with BLE/Bluetooth integration (Android/iOS)
• OBD-II and CAN bus familiarity (bonus if with EVs)
• Streaming data to mobile or cloud
• Automotive/IoT background preferred

Deliverables

• Functional prototype app (or SDK) to stream data from dongle
• Integration docs for full stack dev
• Ongoing collaboration possible
