Electrical Systems Engineer

WATT specialises in the development and manufacture of products in the sports, passenger and commercial vehicle sectors. Candidates must demonstrate in depth knowledge and experience required by the specific job role, able to work in a small dynamic team as the technical lead, hands on delivery and company expert. In addition, candidates must show wiliness and capability to work outside their normal role to support the team and project demands.

Reporting to: Chief Engineer Electrical Engineering.

Job Role: Electrical Systems Engineer.

Lead the development of several electrical systems, e.g., security, HMI, HV Charging, ADAS. Includes,

o Definition of requirements for software development.

o Schematic layouts and EDS requirements.

o Drawing and specification release, cost, timing and quality management.

o Supplier liaison for associated electrical components.

o Functional safety application, DFMEA.

o Styling liaison and concept feasibility for electrical HMI components.

o Hands-on build and test of LV & HV systems (assist build/test engineers).

Support members of EE team, this can cover any aspect of EE development.

Requirements

· Experience in electrical systems development (Depth of knowledge in some areas).

· Working knowledge of software and networks (CAN & LIN), in application and test.

· Good overall knowledge of EE, thermal and EV powertrain components and systems.

· Good knowledge of FuSa and Cyber.

· Working knowledge of MathWorks and Simulink tools.

· Working knowledge of regulations and type approvals.

· Working Knowledge of EDS tools such as Arcadia or E3.

· Good knowledge of 3DX Catia6 (ELM-OC is an advantage).

· HV experience and training is an advantage.
